Description
Plectranthus argentatus is a striking, evergreen tender perennial grown primarily for its large, velvety silver-grey foliage. The soft, heart-shaped leaves are densely covered with fine hairs, giving the plant a luminous, textured appearance that contrasts beautifully with green and flowering plants. It has a naturally bushy, spreading habit, making it an excellent choice for mixed containers, borders, and shaded or partially shaded gardens.
Thriving in well-drained soil and partial shade to full sun in cooler climates, Plectranthus argentatus is drought tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance. Although it may produce small spikes of pale bluish-white flowers in late summer, it is prized mainly for its ornamental foliage. As a tender perennial, it should be protected from frost or overwintered indoors in colder regions.
