Description
Plectranthus ciliatus is a fast-growing, evergreen perennial valued for its attractive foliage and versatility in shaded gardens. It forms a dense, spreading mound of soft, slightly hairy leaves that are deep green above with distinctive purple undersides, creating striking colour contrast. During late summer and autumn, it produces delicate spikes of pale mauve to lavender flowers that attract pollinators.
Thriving in partial to full shade, Plectranthus ciliatus prefers moist, well-drained soil and is ideal for borders, woodland gardens, containers, hanging baskets, or as a groundcover. Its vigorous growth and low-maintenance nature make it an excellent choice for adding year-round texture and colour to sheltered outdoor spaces or bright indoor environments.
