Careys Secret Garden has always been a place of discovery, calm, and connection with nature. One of the most joyful additions to our calendar has been the weekly Wildly Kind Parent and Toddler Sessions, which bring together families, fresh air, crafts, storytelling and the magic of the natural world.

What Are Wildly Kind Sessions?

Wildly Kind is all about giving young children (and their parents or carers) a chance to play, learn, and grow outdoors. Sessions are designed for toddlers to explore nature in a safe, gentle, and inspiring way.

Each week brings something new — from woodland crafts and storytelling to exploring textures, sounds, and colours around the gardens. It’s hands-on play in the best sense: paper, glue, mud, leaves, sticks, and plenty of imagination.

Why They’re So Special

Nature as a classroom: Instead of screens and plastic toys, little ones interact with the changing seasons — crunching leaves, spotting bugs, and making things with the season plants and veggies.

Child-led discovery: The sessions are structured but flexible, letting children’s curiosity lead the way.

Community connection: Parents and carers often find as much joy as the children, connecting with others while soaking up the calm of the garden.

Kindness at the heart: True to their name, Wildly Kind sessions promote kindness — to ourselves, each other, and the natural world.

What Families Can Expect

  • Seasonal crafts with craft and natural materials
  • Storytime beneath the trees
  • Singing around the camp fire
  • Treasure trails around the garden
  • Families are welcome to stay after the session and enjoy the gardens/buy refreshments from the coffee shop

Perfect for Autumn Adventures

As autumn arrives, the sessions take on an extra sparkle. Toddlers delight in pumpkins, conkers, and fungi discoveries, while parents can enjoy a moment of peace surrounded by the colours and scents of the season.

Why Parents Love It

Feedback from families has been glowing — many say it’s the highlight of their child’s week. It’s not just about fun; it’s about giving children the freedom to grow in confidence, creativity, and kindness in a natural setting.

Join Us at Careys

Wildly Kind sessions run regularly at Careys Secret Garden on Friday mornings from 9.30am - 11am and are open to parents, grandparents, and carers with toddlers. They’re a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and share in the joy of childhood wonder. Additional sessions run on the first Saturday of the month.

All sessions are very popular and tend to book up quickly. We recommend securing your spot a few weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.
