In this two-hour session you'll be shown how to recognise the well-known constellations, hear how they have been utilised by humans since the Stone Age, and learn tips on how to star-hop using the brightest stars. We’ll also spot the Moon, planets and galaxies through a telescope.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAlong the way we’ll chat about some of the strangest objects in the universe, as well as the importance of reducing light pollution for both humans and wildlife. The evening will mostly be spent outside, but at various points we will head to the barn to warm up and learn about some of the useful apps available that can help you enjoy the night sky when you’re back home. Please wear appropriate footwear for walking on damp grass and uneven surfaces. We also recommend you wear lots of layers to keep warm, and bring hats, gloves and scarves. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIf you have a pair of binoculars at home, feel free to bring them along to enhance your view of the deep-sky celestial objects we’ll be hunting for throughout the night.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBecause the weather can be unpredictable, we have a fantastic \"Cloudy Sky Alternative\" ready to go. If the stars are hiding, we’ll dive into an interactive indoor session on the Solar System, featuring the latest high-res planetary imagery, and the rare opportunity to handle real space rocks that have fallen to Earth!
